Reed and Mary came to the Poconos from California for their very elegant California Vibe elopement at The French Manor Inn & Spa in Newfoundland, PA.(one of my favorite wedding venues) This was one of my favorite weddings of 2021! I definitely caught a California vibe because Mary, Reed and their family members there were just lovely, down to earth and laid back. Many times as an elopement photographer you get spur of the moment, or short planned nuptial inquiries. I get a little nervous when I haven’t met the couple in person, and last year with Covid concerns, there was quite a bit of not meeting my couples until the day of.
When I arrived I met Mary first, she was getting ready with her sister, Reed’s mom and his sister. I knew immediately from their energy, this was going to be a fabulous day! They were so organized and took my tip of having all the detail items they wanted documented ready for me when I got there and they did not disappoint; everything was ready and waiting and made my job a piece of cake!
The ceremony was touching and both read vows they had written for one another, there wasn’t a dry eye there; including mine! The nature of elopements lends itself to being a more relaxed and doesn’t necessarily have to have the tight timeline that a larger wedding would have so it was easy to go with the flow. The Inn suggested the cake being cut and served before we went on to do formals and it worked out wonderfully.
The formal part of the day went so smooth, as you can see, the camera loves both Reed and Mary and they were naturals, took direction well and we were able to get some really great shots. Like I said was one of my favorite weddings of the 2021 season.
